Industrial Chemical Technician
Located in Newton
Monday-Friday 1st Shift
Responsible for all "front end" activities including, but not limited to, foam machinery and foam pouring, including machine setup, cleanup, upkeep, and raw materials.
Responsible for applying knowledge of foam manufacturing, process/quality controls and quality assurance to processing and quality product specifications.
Requires a thorough knowledge of all materials and production techniques to ensure that quality of supplies and products meet specifications.
1. Must be able to read, write, count and possess an understanding of math, including
the ability to compute fractions, ratios, weights and percentages. Ability to
communicate thoughts, ideas, requests, and problems to fellow employees and supervisors on a one-to-one basis, as well as over the phone and in written form. Must be capable of learning and comprehending job assignments, possess good
memory and recall abilities, troubleshoot problems and independently implement solutions.
Experienced in performing a variety of general clerical functions such as, typing, using a mouse, to-key calculator, and data entry. Complies reports, sorts, and files records, maintains files and records, and posts data. Ability to use spreadsheets, web browsers, and understand basic computer functions.
Regular and dependable attendance is essential to the job. OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Runs foam machine during pouring operations.
Adjusts physical and chemical inputs to maximize foaming yields.
Manages raw material tank inventory levels suitable for production.
Performs general machine maintenance and PM's.
Participates in improvement projects and activities.
Maintains a safe and orderly work area.
I JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skfil, Ability, Education, and Experience:
Knowledge - Experience in general clerical functions such as, typing, 10-key calculator, and data entry.
Skill - Ability to read, write, count and possess an understanding of math, including the ability to compute fractions, ratios, weights and percentages. Must be familiar with computers and basic programs such as MS Office and e-mail.
Ability - Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas, requests, and problems to fellow employees and supervisors on a one-on-one basis, as well as over the phone and in written form. Must be capable of learning and comprehending job assignments, possess good memory and recall abilities, troubleshoot problems and independently implement solutions.
Education - Formal education is not required, but could be useful. Experience - Typing, using a mouse, to-key calculator, data entry. Material and Equipment Directly Used:
Tape measure, knife, hand tools, power tools, to-key calculator, computer, telephone, filing, and record keeping materials to maintain business records and reports.
The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions including both hot and cold temperatures, as well as inclement weather conditions. Workers are subject to atmospheric conditions that may affect certain individual's respiratory system or skin. Safety apparel must be worn at certain times such as full rain suit, face shield, respirator, and gloves.

Stooping: Orrasionally. Bending body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
Kneeling: Seldom. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

Standing: Frequently. Work involves standing most of the time, sitting only occasionally.

Lifting: Occasionally. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
Fingering: Frequently. Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
Grasping: Occasionally. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

Repetitive Motion: Continually. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, head, and/or fingers.
Moderate Work: Exerting up to too pounds of force era sionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception, and field of vision. This position requires the minimum standard involving preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, transcription, computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving operation of machines, using measurement devices, assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
